Port authorities and regional authorities around the world, especially in North America, are increasingly regulating emissions from ships. As a result, there is an ever increasing need for vessel operators and regulators to be able to monitor emissions, and for operators to prove they are complying with legislation.

Our innovative propriety emissions monitoring equipment SeatoSkyWatch meets these needs by providing 24/7 real-time vessel emissions monitoring for NOx, O2 and particulate matter (smoke). The system is comprised of a number of proven technologies as isolated components on a common integrated platform. Emissions data is tamper proof so vessel operators and regulators can be assured that the data collected is "real data" and has not been manipulated.

SeatoSkyWatch can be used to check smoke emissions from all kinds of combustion such as diesel engines, incinerators and boilers. It is ideal for applications where a prompt and accurate response to the smoke and dust density is required, regardless of weather conditions or daylight. A robust system, it is well suited to resist heat and vibrations in and around a smokestack and our patented technology removes the light source from the smoke stack contrary to traditional opacity monitors used on the land side.

SeatoSkyWatch integrates the most up to date technologies to monitor and track NOx, CO and smoke emissions:
NOx
For measuring NOx emissions SeatoSkyWatch uses a high performance Heated ChemiLuminecscent Detector (HCLD), the only method of measuring NOx recognized in the NOx Technical Code as it is more stable and reliable and less susceptible to interferences compared to alternative methods.

O2
SeatoSkyWatch measures oxygen (O2) with a zirconium cell, the most robust type of oxygen detector and is a method automatically approved in the NOx Technical Code.
Particulate Matter (Smoke)

A Smoke Density Monitor is used to check and document smoke emissions regardless of weather conditions or daylight. The monitor incorporates a vibration-resistant design with temperature stable optic heads, a focused infrared light beam, a fibre optic transmitter and receiver and two freely configurable alarm relays. The system is easy to keep clean with purge air and easy to maintain and can be installed in very diverse settings; weighing only 5.5 kg, the monitoring unit can be placed almost anywhere providing the liberty of adapting the system to special needs.

Key Features of SeatoSkyWatch:
