Sea to Sky Pollution Solutions Joins West Coast Collaborative

January, 2006

West Vancouver - Sea to Sky Pollution Solutions Corporation (“Sea to Sky”) (www.seatoskypollutionsolutions.com) a world leader in the development of pollution mitigation and monitoring systems for the marine industry, announced that it joined the West Coast Collaborative (WCC) this month. Sea to Sky is a global consortium based in West Vancouver, Canada that includes a network of leading environmental technology developers, marine and aerospace manufacturers and environmental stewards to serve the maritime community.

Espousing the philosophy that collaboration is essential to address regional marine air pollution problems, Sea to Sky believes joining the WCC is an important step that will provide valuable high-level private and public sector alliances, information sharing, support and networking opportunities for the company, and will be the fastest way to advance the development of Sea to Sky’s new water in fuel emulsion technology. Sea to Sky recently won an international competition to develop a water in fuel emulsion technology to reduce emissions for ocean-going vessels at the Port of Los Angeles. Sea to Sky hopes to also benefit the Collaborative by sharing information, expertise and lessons learned.

The West Coast Collaborative is an ambitious partnership between leaders from federal, state, and local government, the private sector, and environmental groups committed to reducing diesel emissions along the West Coast. Partners come from all over Western North America, including California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. The WCC is focused on creating, supporting and implementing diesel emissions reductions projects and is organized around six sector workgroups that meet regularly by teleconference and occasionally face-to-face. The group is supported by an Interim Steering Committee comprised of federal, state and local government agencies, however, the aim is to create a governing body for the WCC that includes representatives from the private and non-profit sectors.

The WCC provides a variety of functions. It raises awareness of the need for diesel emissions reductions including supporting voluntary projects and creates a forum for information sharing among diesel emissions reductions advocates. The group also works to leverage new resources to expand voluntary diesel emissions mitigation efforts and to implement regional pollution mitigation projects, often involving leveraging funds from a variety of sources.

Diesel emissions from marine vessels have become a serious health concern, and will increasingly continue to be as global marine traffic is expected to triple by 2020. Diesel emissions can cause life-threatening respiratory diseases and one in five children in port cities has asthma. Unknown to most, marine emissions represent 30% of the world’s NOx emissions and are a significant source of green house gases that contribute to global warming.

About Sea to Sky Pollution Solutions Corporation

Sea to Sky Pollution Solutions (www.seatoskypollutionsolutions.com) designs innovative, integrated system-based solutions that eliminate the environmental impact of marine vessels, including the effects of toxic diesel emissions. Sea to Sky’s mission is to eliminate discharges of effluents into the Sea from marine vessels while simultaneously reducing the NOx and particulate matter (PM) emissions they put into the Sky, as reflected in their slogan “Breathe Easy - the Coast is Clear”.
