Sea to Sky’s Pollution Solution’s Water in Fuel Emulsion Technology Attracts Media Attention at APL Press Conference

December 11, 2006

:Los Angeles - Sea to Sky Pollution Solutions Corporation (“Sea to Sky”), the preeminent world leader in the development of pollution mitigation and monitoring systems for the marine industry, and shipping giant APL Maritime Ltd. announced at a media press conference last week that the shipping company will soon be testing three air pollution mitigation technologies on its vessels calling California ports. One of the technologies featured is Sea to Sky’s new on-demand water in fuel emulsion system retrofitted on M/V APL Singapore as part of a three-year demonstration project at the Port of Los Angeles. APL will also test the use of slide valves and an advanced cylinder lubrication system as pollution reduction strategies.

During the press conference December 4 in Los Angeles on board the 863-foot M/V APL Singapore, APL executives provided reporters with overviews of the three pollution mitigation technologies. However, it was Sea to Sky Pollution Solutions’ on-demand water in fuel emulsion pollution mitigation technology that generated the most media attention.

Sea to Sky’s President Eric Hutchingame attended the press conference and is delighted by the media’s interest to his company’s proprietary marine air pollution mitigation technology. States Hutchingame, “Water in fuel emulsion is a practical and effective solution to reducing marine emissions because it can be utilized on existing vessels by modifying their engines. Emission reductions anticipated are in the order of 1:1 for nitrous oxide and 1:2 to 1:3 for particulate matter based on water percentage. For example, 30% water in fuel emulsion should reduce NOx by 30% and particulate matter by 60-90%.”

Sea to Sky’s technology was developed during an earlier successful project at the Port of Los Angeles after Sea to Sky won an international competition for funding to develop a prototype unit on a vessel owned by Seaspan Ship Management.
